These plates are used to join to lentghs of 20mm electric fence tape together so that the power in no length will continue into the other without any drop in current.

When connecting two lines of tape many people tie them together in a know. Sometimes this work but rarely does all the power from the energiser transfer to added tape without a considerable drop in power. Not all of the conductors in the two lengths will touch so by the time there are a few knots the power may only be in a few conductors and thepower will be quite weak.

By threading the polytape through the joining plate and back on itself it is locked in position and this will electrify the plate itself. Adding a second line of tape to this ensures that ALL of the conductors will be powered making you fence more effective.
