This is a very meaty 40mm tape which we've brought into our range recently. This has all the qualities that you'd want from a high perfomance fencing tape - sturdy construction with thick PE content, plenty stainless steel lines, some thick tinned copper, reinforced edges and a manufacturers guarantee of 5 years. Not cheap by any means but once this tape is installed it'll be a long time before it'll need replaced.

There are 11 stainless steel strands 0.16mm thick running through it as well as 3 tinned copper strands of 0.3mm. The stainless steel lines give the fencing tape very durable conductors and the tinnned copper give it the low resistance needed for extra long runs of electric fencing. The weave of the tape is such that every 12" or so there is a conductor woven accross the tape from top to bottom which touches all the other conductors. This means that if the tape becomes damaged the conductors will all become powered within a few inches of any damage. Also the low resistance of the tinned copper will ensure that the steel lines will have their power boosted by the extra power carried.

The resistance of this tape is 0.08 Ohms/m and although the manufacturers give a recommended fence length of 13Km we say that this is doning it an injustice as other manufacturers have tape with 0.09Ohms/m and have a maximum fence length of 23Km. 200m long.

Our Opinion
This has both the best build quality and resistance of a 40mm tape that we have seen. We'd say only to use it on permanent fences as it's to good for strip grazing. Chunky to hold, good tight weave and the thickness of the reinforced edging is very impressive.
