This is a 9v electric fencing kit for horses that gives the choice of 2 powerful energisers both with advanced technology / battery saving capabilities and a choice of post height.
The P40 and P60 energisers are more powerful versions of the P20 and have several features that will benefit the user. They can display the charge left in the energisers battery, indicate what voltage is actually going through the fence and operate at a slower mode than normal. This is ideal for horses that are used to electric fencing and are not likely to go near it. This feature will almost double the life of any 9v battery.
The P40 & P60 can also be set to run automatically slower at night which is used when the fence needs the regular pulse speed during the day but can be run on less at night when the animals are more docile. Half power is used when the animals need the regular pulse speed but a smaller shock is suitable and full power is perfect to train horses to respect the fence when first getting used to an electric fence.
These fence energisers are run from 9v batteries, which are non-rechargeable, and we supply a 55ah battery in with this kit. Even on full power this should last over 2 months. They can also be run from a 12v battery with the addition of .
20 of our green standard posts come with the kit so the tape will be around 3' from the ground when in position. The posts can be upgraded if you wish. The electric fencing tape is 200m of our 20mm green tape and we also supply a warning sign, some ring insulators to give fixed anchor points along the fenceline, a wee tester and a gate handle in with the kit too.
Both the P40 & P60 have a 3yr manufacturers guarantee.
Kit Includes
1 x Patura P40 or P60 9v/12v energiser
1 x 55Ah 9v battery
20 x 3ft green plastic fenceposts
1 x 200m green 20mm tape
1 x single light tester
1 x gate handle
4 x ring insulators
Setting Options
Fence Voltage Indicator
when the energiser is on any of the 4 power options this indicator will flash with each pulse and give an indication as to the power within your electric fence.
Top Green Light - Fence voltage over 5000v(optimum)
Middle Green Light - Fence voltage 2500-4900v(satisfactory)
Bottom Red Light - Fence voltage under 2500v(insufficient)
Battery Voltage Indicator
When on this setting the lights are set to be permanently on. The number of lights displayed shows how much power is left in your battery.
Top Green Light - Battery voltage over 7.1v
Middle Green Light - Battery voltage 5.5-7.0v
Bottom Red Light - Battery voltage below 5.5v
Slow Mode
With horses and cattle this mode can be used once they are used to the fence. Initially they should be kept on a higher setting but after a while this setting can be used to slow the pulse rate of the fence energiser. This will help save battery power.
Night Safe Mode
A rather handy setting that drops the pulse rate of the energiser during hours of darkness. Perfect for slow moving animals like cattle.
Half Power Mode
This is ideal for fencingin animals that will only need minimal power to keep them in. Dogs, cats, cattle and horses that are quite used to electric fencing are easily contained when the fencing unit is set to this. As it conserves power, it will be cheaper to run.
Full Power Mode
This is the setting that most energisers are set to by default and will put a good strong pulse down the fenceline. Any animal that has not experienced electric fencing before should have a week or so at this level just to get them used to it. Most livestock will be able to be contained using a lesser setting but more stubborn animals may need to be kept at this level.
