This is one of our 50m green poultry nets and a HotShock A8 energiser to keep your chickens and stop foxes from getting to your birds.

The netting is 110cm high and has 12 horizontal strands with 11 of them have steel conductors going through them that carry the electric current. The strand on the bottom of the net doesn't have any conductors as it touches the ground and the energiser's power would go to earth if it were powered. All the conducting lines go up the posts at either end of the netting and form into tails (click on "enlarge image" below). These have clips on the end if you want to add to your poultry fence at a later stage.

The vertical strands of the net are 7.6cm apart and the height of hte first 4 holes are 5cm high so even very young birds aren't going to escape. The five holes above that are 10cm high, them one of 15cm and the top one is 20cm high.

An upgrade is available to a double spiked net just above the 'buy' button above. These will give a better grip on the ground and if you wish your poultry pen to be circular or have curved ares then we'd recomend these nets. More details on them can be found here.

The energiser is one of our most popular models. It has a very robust casing and the advanced circuitry gives out a higher voltage rating than most energisers of it's capability. It can theoretically power 3 x 50m electric nets but we'd recommend 2 as netting tends to leak power. It comes with an earth stake and all the connection leads to attach to a battery, the earth stake & the netting. If you would like a higher powered kit, please see our battery kit here.

These kits are fairly simple to set up. Just roll out your net, set it up with the spikes pushed firmly in the ground. Attach energiser to a wooden post or hang it vertically and attach the red power terminal of the fencer to any netting conductor (a tail would be best). The black connection lead will clip to the earth stake which sould be pushed right into the ground for maximum effectiveness and finally the connection leads that come from the side of the energiser connect to the terminals on a 12v battery.

All you will need to power your kit is a 12v car or leisure (preferred) battery.

Please Note: We now have in stock our EXTRA STRONG POULTRY NETTING CORNER POSTS which provide excellent support for the corners of the netting and can provide a gateway too. While the flexiposts used throughout the net are fine for keeping the net supported they are not as robust at keeping the netting taught at the corners so some customers have used these with excellent results. By adding these EXTRA THICK & DOUBLE SPIKED POSTS to the corners they considerably help keeping the poultry netting from sagging. Also by putting an addition extra strong post about 1m from the end, you can open and close your electric net without releasing any tension anywhere along the line.
