These ensure a good continuity of current between tapes - essential for an effective electric fence. If a fence made from electric tape is tied together then it is inevitable that many conductors will not touch each other and the fence loses effectiveness as it extends away from the energiser. These buckle type conectors allow one tape to join to another without no loss in conductivity as the connector becomes "live" and all the conductors in each tape become electrified ensuring an efficient electric fence.
