These are 7mm thick steel fencing posts with an insulated pigtail top. The total length is 105cm including the spikes and when in the ground the height of the top wire is 89cm. Made as a long lasting mobile electric fencing post these are mainly used for short term fences to strip graze fields with cattle but are suited to other animals with the addition of clip-on insulators.

The top insulator is an extension of the post's shaft that has been twisted round and has an outer skin of thick plastic to insulate a live fenceline. This type of post top is the strongest you will find as most steel fencing popts have their tops added seperately and over time they have a tendancy to come off.

These insulators can be placed against the shaft of the post and twisted into position to give a solid and secure housing for more conducting wires. This gives the fence a greater number of wires and therefore creates a more effective barrier for smaller animals. When locked in position the insulators can move up and down the posts when pressure is applied but are not easily moved when knocked by animals or when the fenceline is being altered.
