The four lines of 40mm tape are kept taught by springs at the hinge side and you can adjust the length by the clips on the latch side where the tape joins onto the 'latch rod'. This rod (around 8mm diameter) slots into a large staple at the base of the post and the top clips into a securing latch towards the top. The electrical connection to the fence is made by a short length of cable going from the top latch around to the fence. (This cable does not come with the kit as standard but we pop a short length in the box FOC). No connection is necessary on the hinge side although that would be easy enough to install.
All components are included in the kit and it comes with 4 x 6m of brown tape. If you'd rather use your own tape to blend in with the existing fence or longer tape then that's simple to do.
